This part of the story takes place BEFORE Tavern Brawls have been formed!
Introduction- You (or your group) are members of an underworld crime syndicate. Your bosses have assigned you to provide protection and assistance to two mid-level criminals, Arwen and Abacus. These two have recently taken up residence at the Tipsy Turtle Inn as they have several ongoing activities that will take place in the Outer Belt of the City State of Thandar.
Flavor text: "Just remember, don't be a hero. Protect the goods and protect Arwen & Abacus and you will be golden. Try and become a hero and your career in the Gold Syndicate will be very, very brief. Listen, if the Tipsy Turtle Inn is burning down to the ground, this is what you do. Secure our assets, protect Abacus and Arwen, and then watch the Inn burn down to the ground. And if you have already secured everything, then you shouldn't be anywhere near the place if arsonists attack the inn. Don't get any noble ideas about saving folks that don't need saving. Just follow orders and you will be golden."
A few days before your official start date you can choose one of two activities. Visit a new fighting school to improve your combat skills, in case these jobs require a lot of direct conflict [[Battle School]] OR scout [[Scouting the Inn]] the Tipsy Turtle Inn and see what rumours you can pick up and learn.You visit a new fighting camp run by the Monaghan Brothers.
While there you encounter various members of local merc bands (pull some names from Tavern Brawls).
Then you enter a "danger room" setup that is a series of traps while the Monaghan brothers and their gang try to beat you down. You will be hit with rocks, blocks of ice, slipping hazards etc as you move through an outdoor wilderness course while being hunted by the Monaghan Brothers.
If you succeed on this mission, you gain XP [[Get to Work]]
If you fail, you get injured and don't get XP but you start the next encounter slightly wounded (maybe down 5 pts of health)You will catch a glimpse of The Commissar exiting the Inn, with her entourage, she heads to the stables and disappears. You head in the Inn, hours go by uneventfully, except for raucus singing and drinking. Late into the evening you spy Abacus and Arwen at a table in the back in a tense negotation with a known gang of fences. The meeting ends abrubtly and then a BAR FIGHT breaks out!
This is the bar fight that annoys the Barkeep so much to create Tavern Brawls.
You can't just sneak out, if Arwen and Abacus get accidentally hurt or killed, you will be out of a job before you even start!
In this encounter, you need to rescue Arwen and Abacus. These two characters start in the Master Deck, you need to get both of them into your discard pile and reduce the Master to zero health.
This is basically the "Entralled Regulars" except no magic and the Crazed Bartender is Nudeltulpe.
If you win, then Abacus and Arwen escape unharmed. After this bar fight, the Introduction Lore and setting for Tavern Brawls takes place. Go to next encounter [[Ambush]]
If you lose, then Arwen and Abacus get injured and based on your poor bodyguard skills you are "reassigned".You have been working for Arwen and Abacus for 4 weeks now. (S01W04)
Mostly you have been providing security, bodyguard, as well as acting as decoys for some small operations. One night after a particularly lucrative gambling session, a group of armed bandits attack Arwen and Abacus by the stables of the Inn. You don't know if they are simple robbers or they are trying to shut down their new gambling ring. Either way, you have one job and that is to keep those two criminals (Arwen and Abacus) safe!
Master Deck: Hooded Robbers
Goal: Defeat them or risk losing Arwen and Abacus and possibly the whole operation!
Win-- gain XP and treasure. Then the plot moves forward to the Season Finale [[The Great Escape]]
Fail and Arwen and Abacus are robbed and you are fired!After the Season Finale, we see The Hand escape from The Commissar.
You help Arwen and Abacus escape the Inn, but now she sends her sibling along with the Monaghan Brothers to capture Arwen and Abacus
A few new mechanics, as the Commissar attempts to capture A&A, you can use the "Shopkeeper Keys" to secure cards and prevent them from being knocked out of the Market
The Master can resurrect Imperial Champions from their discard.
If you succeed, Abacus and Arwen escape unharmed. Also, the Commissar's sibling will be critically injured (blinded in one eye!)
If you fail, you will be arrested while Arwen and Abacus manage to escape to with minor injuries.
You are working successfully in your criminal job assisting Arwen and Abacus. You decide you want to improve your status in the organization and want to ask for a raise and greater responsability

Otherwise go to [[Heist]]This is a classic Heist job, you will need to generate combat, healing, purchase Shopkeeper Keys and then Heist a specific item from the Master deck
The Master deck is an Armed Caravan of Gemologists!
If you win, you gain XP Then go to [[The Great Escape]]
If you lose, then you probably die?You manage to overhear a conversation between Robin and Abacus. You convince Abacus to put you in charge in moving out the contraband that we saw in S01W05. You are trying to move the goods out of the City and not get caught by the guards. Imperial guards keep spawning, but you may use bribery (Fire Gems, Rubies, and Tasty Meals) to minimize the negative impact of the Guards and Watchmen
Succeed: Gain XP and Treasure
Fail: Gain XP and no Treasure
Then go to [[The Great Escape]]
